SOUTHERN NEVADA
A RESIDENT'S PERSPECTIVE
Southern Nevada is truly a playground for young adults. Within an hour of our hospital, University Medical Center (UMC), is Lake Mead, the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Red Rock National Park, Mount Charleston, the Colorado River, the Hoover Dam and of course, the Las Vegas Strip. Imagine a day off.....
![]() As you head back to the city, you realize that you're pretty hungry. Just drop in to any of the 57 buffets or 15 Michelin Star rated restaurants in Las Vegas and you'll be happy that you did. Next up, skiing. That's right, skiing in Las Vegas. Just 46 minutes from UMC is the Mount Charleston Ski Resort. Over that short drive, you'll see the variety of landscape in Southern Nevada, going from high desert to mountainous forest in less than an hour. After your time on the slopes, you probably want to relax. Now it's time to head to Red Rock Canyon for one of the best sunsets you'll ever see. Stop by the local ranch for a horseback ride to one of the best lookout points, and follow that up with an authentic cowboy dinner with live music. |
As the sun goes down, the rest of Southern Nevada may be going to sleep, but not Las Vegas. The real 'City That Never Sleeps' is truly a 24/7/365 city. It boasts incredible restaurants, bars, clubs, entertainment and thrill rides - all for your enjoyment. Not many regions have so much to offer a resident on their day off, which is why we LOVE living in Southern Nevada. |
